Alfa and iTechnology

Posted by Stalliano On September - 27 - 20111 COMMENT

I was having a look at applications for my iPhone earlier and come across this one on in the iStore!! – AWESOME!!

Alfa iPhone App

Unfortunately though, we do not have the privilege of this application in South Africa (yet!). Hopefully Alfa Romeo South Africa will look into this one, and try and make it available to us in the not too distant future!

This simply goes to show that Alfa Romeo are committed to keeping up with the latest technology changes, to ensure that a brand that has successfully been around for 100 years, will be here for another 100 years! – Good on you Alfa!

You can have another look at this here… Alfa InfoMobile - Stalliano

Every once in a while we come a cross a story of Alfa passion that just has to be shared, and the story of Alan Ludden is no exception. The lucky winner of an Alfa Romeo Giulietta for a year in Ireland , Alan was voted for by his countrymen on Facebook by demonstrating the lengths he would go to to protect his car with his life! Classic!

So…Top Gear test the 159

Posted by Stalliano On September - 22 - 2011ADD COMMENTS

I was surfing the net, and came across the Top Gear test of the Alfa Romeo 159. Having owned a 156, I was curious as to what they would say about the 159 and more pleased, I could not have been!

You see, being Italian and having Italian passion in my blood, I’m bound by an unnatural urge to live the Italian (male) life-style; but then again so do the other 4! You might be wondering what this means, and why or how this is relevant to the 159? But all I ask is that you give me a minute to explain…

Ultimately, it’s simple, we love our Mamma’s, we love our Food…but most of all, we Love our Alfa’s!! You see, all these element have one common denominator – Passion! Passion that is unrivalled, unabating and unmovable! The Passion that Alfa Romeo has been built on for over 100 years and is still engrained within the brand. The passion that makes us smile when we see another Alfa, the passion that we feel as we sit in our Alfa’s! – The Passion!!

As you watch the clip, you’ll notice this very elements, this heart, this soul that cannot be put aside, it cannot be moved or shaped or placed into any mould that would make it stereotypical…it is Alfa Romeo, it is the passion! And so I leave you with this (and the clip below)…when was the last time you felt the passion of an Alfa!? – Stalliano

The Burt…

Have a look at this rare Alfa Romeo TZ-1 being driven around the track by Burt. I have no idea who he is, but the sound of the TZ is what you should really be watching this for…

Real vs Computer Generated (CG)

Posted by D-Mac On September - 22 - 20114 COMMENTS

As Computer Graphics become more realistic from one generation of game to the next, it is becoming more of a challenge to point out what is real and what is computer generated (CG). I added a selection of 8C images to test your Alfa loving eyesight and spot the “Real” vs the “CG Alfa Romeos”.

I’ll post a comment tomorrow afternoon with the answer of which are Real vs CG.

One of our  twitter followers (@FalconeTheMC ) shared with us a piece of art he did (can you make out what it is ?), we think it is brilliant and is definitely too good not to share:

Enjoy, Goat

If you have never seen it before, below are a few images of the Alfa Romeo 169. It’s been suggested that the car will only go into production in 2013 due to the current economic climate, but lets hope it’s sooner! This is truly a beautiful masterpiece if one was ever created!! – I present to you the 169!

A Little Something for our American Fans!

“Oh, say can you see, by the Alfa’s mean head lights…” jokes – no disrespect! We were emailed this photo by Alan Ludden (our Irish connection), so I thought that I’d share it with our American readers…in my opinion, I think it looks pretty awesome!

So is it wrong to call this a star spangled Giulietta!?

Hot Hatch Challenge

Posted by Goat On September - 19 - 20113 COMMENTS

Hot Hatch shoot outs, we all love them, they pit the best of the best performance hatches against one another. They show us the real world performance of these everyday sportscars, the cars that are not that distant a dream.

These shoots outs are often the source of spirited debate, arguments  and truly test our passion for our favorite cars.

In the spirit of this, we have come across a great article (Newstimes, Naked Motoring) that pits together 5 of the top hot hatches on the the market at the moment the Volkswagen Golf R, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV, the Citroen DS3 Sport, the Opel Astra Turbo Sport and the Renault Megane RS 250 Sport :

Hot Hatch Challenge 2011

We found the reading very entertaining and couldn’t agree more with the result.

Let the debates begin…………..
